
Corruption is a form of dishonesty or a criminal offence which is undertaken by a person or an organization or public representatives which is entrusted in a position, in order to acquire illicit, illegal beneficiaries or abuse power for one personal gain.
The new anti-corruption law punishes who offer bribes, too. But it is a very deep-rooted menace and cannot be curbed but possible to control. The major impact to our country’s economy are the scams running into thousands of crores, In India the predisposing factors are Politics, bureaucracy, lack of accountability, bribery, black money, benami land dealings, stock market scams, judiciary, weak anti-corruption set up.
The major scams are Satyam Scam Rs.7800 crores, Commonwealth games scam: Rs. 70000 crores, Harshad Mehta Scam Rs. 4000 crores, Ketan Parekh scam Rs. 40000 crores, Coal mining scam Rs. 1.86 lakh crores.
Politicians and rulers consider corruption is a way of life and the order of the day, Stringent anti-corruption rules and ACB should not report to local government. CBI need to be professional and above political leanings and pressures. Corruption is a greed dominated moral vice and it is hard to curb completely.
