When you become the leader, success is all about growing others. The essential qualities of a leader:

Trustworthiness

Leaders should act with authenticity, honesty, integrity, and reliability to build trust within their team.

Empathy

Leaders should be able to understand and connect with others emotionally to build rapport, resolve conflicts, and create a supportive work environment.

Courage

Leaders should be willing to take calculated risks, stand up for their beliefs, and confront difficult situations.

Decisiveness

Leaders should be able to make decisions, especially under pressure.

Communication

Leaders should have strong communication skills and be able to communicate their vision clearly.

Self-awareness

Leaders should understand their own thoughts, feelings, values, beliefs, and actions.

A good leader must produce few more leaders and not just preventing others to come up as he feels insecure. That is how we have several leaders, the same faces occupying the position for decades and no youth ever get a chance to become a leader.

This needs some correction and encourage young leaders with forward thinking and educate to run the governments, Political Leadership  training schools must undertake such a task and nurture young leadership. India is a young country run by old leaders.
