India is a young nation. The future of India lies in the energy and enthusiasm of the youth. India has a population of 1.42 billion, next largest to China.
Out of this 34.33% are young. 15 - 24 years block constitutes one fifth of total population. 15 - 64 years age group is around67.8%% and above 70 years are almost 7 %. Our population growth rate is 0.81%.
Is our youth productive, forthcoming, reaching out? No. That is the need of the hour. They need to be awakened.
Whereas US has a population of 331002151 with youth comprising only 13%.
Around 300 mio. are below 25 yrs age. No country has this asset.
Indian youth have no problems to raise their voice. They have no problem if someone is murdered, they have no problem if someone is dying raped, kidnapped, and killed. They are busy with their full-time occupation with sports, social media, boozing and few of them even into drugs. Very few young people from south join army.
India’s literacy rate is 6.1%. Kerala has highest literacy rate.
Unemployment rate is around 6%.
31 million people got migrated to US. And 25 million to Australia.
These two major destinations attract our intelligence. Not all youth are educated. There are around 26.5 million young graduates. Migration is a craze. Study B.Tech, jump to US and never try to return. Migrant skilled and unskilled labour in India constitutes 40 - 85% of low wage working population. Around 10 mio. youth enter workforce every year but the rate of employment avenues is much narrow.
Skill India organisation is supposed to train 40 crore youth. 4 out of 10 receiving skill training are jobless. 33% of formally trained youth are unemployed.
India has a female population of is around 675313259. Their engagement in nation building is decimal. They need to be brought to the mainstream online with men.
Nation building is the job of nobody. Youth should come forward and hold the ropes.
Participation in politics is negligible. Politics and country is run by senile leaders. Youth are averse to politics. They do join politics during election time, do great work and these are used and thrown by traditional politicians. They do not empower young politicians. Most young lack intent in politics. 42.4% of youth say no to politics. Thus around more than 20% of leaders are of 65 years and above.
Only now 12% of members of parliament are below 40.
YOUNG COUNTRY OLD LEADERS!
What surprises is that these young leaders do not raise the core issues primarily affecting them and their generation. Younger folks need to invest several years in politics to climb the electoral phase. Out of 49000 contested only 38% were below 40 yrs. Many young leaders are from political families.
The future of India rests on the shoulders. We must provide good education, skill training, entrepreneurial mindset and curiosity to work for the country. Shouting on dias is futile. If our youth and women participate in democracy and political activity, India sure will SHINE.
